The Learning Management Systems (LMS) Specialist will support the Diabetes division with use of the corporate wide learning management system that is used to schedule courses, manage required training, and monitor and report successful completion of training.

In this role, the LMS Specialist will configure and maintain the system for all group level documents, act as first level support for business users and define and build standard reports.

The LMS Specialist will provide input into the development of strategies, and standards and processes for LMS administration.

This person will use his/her LMS expertise in building training in the LMS system, running reports, and assisting customers in various requests.

The LMS Specialist will need to develop strong partnerships and communicate with numerous functional areas to define business requirements as it relates to Quality Systems Training.

The LMS Specialist will help facilitate process development and improvement activities across the Quality System.

This role will be based out of the Medtronic Diabetes Corporate offices in Northridge, CA (Los Angeles).


• Build training in the LMS and ensure standards are maintained by all LMS administrators.

• Assist end-users with technical issues related to the LMS and underlying systems and/or configurations.

• Provide input into the strategies, standards and procedures for administering quality and compliance training across the Diabetes group.

• Work with other LMS administrators and Quality functions to implement strategies around quality and compliance training.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with partners such as: Managers, Training Monitors, corporate LMS operations team, HRIS, co-workers, internal customers and others.

• Work with end-users and business partners to assess and gather the business training requirements, match these requirements to objectives and strategies and execute the plans within the LMS Framework.

• Execute the LMS vision/strategies.

• Maintain the Diabetes required training monitoring and reporting.

• Partner with various internal groups to develop LMS reports and solutions in order to achieve the business reporting strategy.

• Maintain effective communication plans to ensure appropriate people are informed.

• Supports continual improvement projects and CAPAs for the department’s processes.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Provides oversight for the development and maintenance of quality programs, systems, processes and procedures that ensure compliance with policies and that the performance and quality of services conform to established standards and agency guidelines.

Provides expertise and guidance in interpreting policies, regulatory and/or governmental regulations, and agency guidelines to assure compliance.

Works directly with operating entities to provide process analyses oversight on a continuing basis to enforce requirements and meet guidelines.

Leads audit and inspection preparation, resolution of audit and inspection findings and liaises with auditing groups and inspectors through all stages of the audits.

Co-ordinates legal requests in support of government investigations or litigations.

Ensures the quality assurance programs and policies are maintained and modified regularly.

Facilitates uniform standards worldwide and enables best practice sharing, thereby fostering the achievement of company's mission globally.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• 2+ years experience working in an LMS system

• Bachelor’s degree

Nice to Have

• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, and Access.

• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in global and local teams.

• Balanced use of independent action and collaborative problem solving.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and complete tasks/projects in accordance with stated deadlines.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Create project plans including timelines and milestones and track progress.

• Experience gathering and documenting requirements.

• Flexible and able to learn new systems.

• Results-orientation with demonstrated a sense of urgency.

• Client service orientation emphasizing quality work and attention to detail.

• Experience working with quality systems and/or compliance in regulated industry.
