As part of Abbott’s Information Governance and Records team, the Senior Analyst Records and Information Governance will focus on maintaining and continuously improving Abbott’s records management program to meet legal, regulatory and policy requirements.  This position reports to the Supervisor Records and Information Governance and will also work closely with technical and legal professionals on the Information Governance and Records team, as well as professionals across Abbott.

Successful candidates may have backgrounds in Legal, IT, Quality, or other fields that prioritize information management processes and practices to reduce risk and increase efficiency.  The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy and eager to develop ways for improving processes and controls for managing information across Abbott’s global presence.


  • Process intake of new physical records for storage with records suppliers.
  • Process records retrieval requests from Abbott records owners.
  • Conduct keyword searches and searches of records managed in Abbott’s enterprise records management system (RIMS).
  • Execute the disposition order process of physical and electronic records managed in RIMS.
  • Perform quality reviews of scanned physical records images generated by suppliers for compliance with Abbott’s requirements.
  • Execute the global records management strategy for supplier-stored physical records.
  • Provide thoughtful and effective guidance on a range of information management issues, including proposing and executing process improvements for managing Abbott information.
  • Engage with Abbott business stakeholders to provide guidance on recommended practices for managing information, including storage in electronic data repositories and record management systems.
  • Promote better understanding of responsible information management across Abbott.
  • Monitor records suppliers’ performance for compliance with contractual requirements.


    • Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 10 years’ records management experience.
    • Experience using systems for managing the lifecycle of records for compliance with required retention periods and legal holds.
    • Experience developing and implementing records management procedures.
    • Ability to use critical thinking and good judgment to analyze situations and identify/implement appropriate courses of action.
    • Strong organization skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
